Wintrust Arena

Part of an initiative to transform the surrounding McCormick Place area into a vibrant entertainment district, a new premiere event space has been constructed in the newly established McCormick Square. The new 300,000 sq. ft. Wintrust Arena features a 10,500-seat arena, 22 suites, team and support space, as well as retail and restaurant amenities, providing a unique experience for convention guests.

In addition to hosting concerts, conferences and special events, the facility will serve as home court for DePaul University’s men’s and women’s Blue Demons basketball teams. The Arena also serves as the home for the WNBA Basketball team the Chicago Sky.

Joining it’s neighbor, the McCormick Place West building, in sustainable excellence, the facility is seeking LEED certification.

As a member of the design-build joint venture partnership Prairie District3 Partners, Bulley & Andrews provided general contracting services for the new event center as well as the new Marriott Marquis Chicago, which is connected to the arena on its east side.
