The University of Chicago Zhong Lab
Bulley & Andrews served as construction manager for the 7,671 sq. ft. buildout for the new Zhong Laboratory. The new lab was created to support the University’s Institute for Molecular Engineering’s (IME) faculty recruitment and retention.
Designed to support IME new hire, Tian Zhong and a second researcher, the space enables research activities that require building system upgrades to provide precise temperature and humidity control, vibration, EMI and ambient light isolation and devoid of particle contamination.
Due to the nature of the project and the sensitive surroundings of other labs, special care was taken to mitigate dust, vibration and noise.
