Rush Copley Medical Center NICU

To continue to serve the big needs of tiny patients as one of the nation’s top Neonatal Intensive Care Units, Rush Copley Medical Center recently completed its 22,000 sq. ft. NICU addition with Bulley & Andrews as their construction manager.

The project provided new, private rooms for NICU patients with a bathroom and shower, to enable parents to stay with their children around-the-clock. The quiet environment afforded by a private room fosters improved brain growth and development in babies with extremely low birth weight. Just as important, parents are better able to concentrate on what their doctors and nurses are telling them, and ask better questions without feeling self-conscious about being overheard.

A parent resource room, equipped with computers and reference materials, and palliative care room were also a part of the medical center’s expansion.
