Pritzker Military Library

Bulley & Andrews acted as Construction Manager for the construction of the new Pritzker Military Library located on the second, third and fourth floors at 104 South Michigan Avenue.  Positioned at the corner of Michigan and Monroe, the new space houses the library’s growing collection of books and related materials on military history helping bring the story of the Citizen Soldier to as many people as possible.

The newly renovated space involved approximately 30,000 square feet and includes interior buildout in addition to new MEP/FP installations.  Construction for the build-out began in May 2009 and was completed in the fall of 2010.

In addition to preparing the space on the three floors, Bulley & Andrews is also the base building contractor for the structure’s courtyard infill.  In order to complete the footprint of the building, 16 floors are being built up to, transform the “U” shaped building into a four-sided structure.  The added space will be used for new exit stairwells, public restrooms and mechanical rooms.  The work will also include the infrastructure required to prepare each floor for newly renovated office space.
