John Marshall Law School

As the eleventh project Bulley & Andrews (B&A) has completed for John Marshall Law School (JMLS), the 2019 renovation transformed an underutilized library space into a vibrant hub for student connection now called Collaboration Commons. Designed to foster team building and collaboration, monitors in the open seating areas and screens in the study rooms allow for easy display transfer from a laptop through an HDMI/USB-C connection.

The renovation involved 9,000 sq. ft. and required six months of preconstruction services. The information identified and shared during the preconstruction phase directly supported the design process and helped JMLS make the most of their building program.

Committed to leveraging technology to benefit our clients, B&A completed scans of the existing space after demolition. The data gathered helped determine the amount of floor preparation required. The scan data was also provided to the architect to further inform the design. This level of detail was invaluable to coordinate locations of light fixtures and MEP/FP systems, which improved efficiency.
