InterContinental Chicago Presidential Suite

The InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile has unveiled its updated presidential suite on the 35th and 36th floors. Designed by Chicago-based Simeone Deary Design Group and executed by Bulley & Andrews, the suite’s interior design reflects the hotel’s origination as the Medinah Men’s Athletic Club by the Shriner’s Organization.

The 1,700-square-foot, two-story living space has a neutral palette of warm gray with pops of metallic accents. In the grand living room, the 19-foot ceilings showcase the curved arches and leaded glass windows, which inspired other aspects of the design.
A 55-inch LED television is embedded into a white marble stone mantel with a full height mirror positioned above it. To connect the first and second floors, hand-selected marble plank stairs are offset by the 1929 original handrail, which was restored to a patina brass finish.

A contemporary interpretation of the property’s Moorish Revival Architecture style is reflected in the renovated suite. Bulley & Andrews brought to bear its exacting attention to detail which is reflected in the expertly executed Moorish design elements including domes, lancet, and ogee arches, as well as decorative colorful tile work.
