Common Pantry: Renovation

Common Pantry is Chicago’s longest, continuously operating food pantry providing healthy food, kinship and support to those facing poverty-related challenges.

Bulley & Andrews served as construction manager for the 6,000 sq. ft. renovation to create a multi-faceted community resource with hot meal service.

The scope of work features a food pantry, kitchen, office, storage area, washrooms, 1,000 sq. ft. courtyard and 4,300 sq. ft. dining hall.

Common Pantry’s transformative new home is a testament to compassion, empathy, and resourcefulness. From the bright, welcoming entry to the uplifting rear courtyard, the project creates an environment where clients experience a profound sense of dignity, comfort and belonging. The space and its thoughtful design are pivotal in elevating one’s sense of well-being and fostering a brighter outlook on their journey to overcoming life challenges.

This project received financing from The Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity (DCEO).
