St. Joe County Public Library: Addition & Renovation

Bulley & Andrews served as construction manager for the renovation and addition of the St. Joe County Public Library in the heart of South Bend, IN.

Encompassing an entire city block, the project included the renovation of 85,000 sq. ft. on the upper three floors in the existing facility, mechanical improvements in the existing basement and a new, three-story expansion of 40,000 sq. ft. to the building. It also included a new 252-seat auditorium for lectures and seminars.

The main library has been re-imagined as a true community center that offers space for meetings, training, events, conferences and collaborative work. Expanding both the children and teen spaces, along with an updated digital lab and a larger auditorium, the library has been transformed into a state-of-the-art facility providing lifetime learning opportunities and nurture a sense of place for the community.
