May Calendar Spotlight: O’Malley Family Welcome Center at Austin Peay State University

Our featured calendar project for May is the O’Malley Family Welcome Center at Austin Peay State University (APSU). Bulley & Andrews Rock City was proud to deliver this project, further strengthening our partnership with APSU and our commitment to the higher education sector.

The B&A Rock City team transformed a former car dealership into a vibrant, student-focused gateway. Strategically located between the APSU campus and downtown Clarksville, the 5,800-square-foot facility serves as the primary starting point for campus tours, creating a welcoming and professional first impression for prospective students and their families.

The project scope included a comprehensive first-floor renovation, a building addition, a new exterior courtyard and plaza, parking lot improvements, and extensive sitework. Construction required meticulous coordination, as the building’s basement remained occupied by a tenant throughout the process. Despite these complexities, the team successfully minimized disruptions, maintained rigorous safety standards, and adhered to a 13-month schedule.

The completed Welcome Center provides APSU with a modern, dedicated space for admissions staff to engage with visitors while significantly enhancing the university’s physical presence and campus experience.
