Mansueto College Prep High School

Bulley & Andrews served as construction manager for the new Mansueto College Prep High School. Located at the intersection of 47th and California, the school allows the Noble Network of Charter Schools to expand and better serve families on the Southwest side of Chicago.

The 67,000 sq. ft., two-story facility integrates a student-centered philosophy in every facet of the school’s image and function. Shaped around a central courtyard, the perimeter focuses on the individual student, comprised of classrooms and cultural spaces that support the learner.

The project transformed 5.5 acres of industrial brownfield in Chicago’s largest “park desert,” into a place of great opportunity for its students. Part of the transformation includes a new athletic turf field with bermed landscaping for spectator seating that is designed to function as a soccer field in the fall and a softball field in the spring.

Additionally, the LEED certified facility incorporates environmentally progressive design and construction strategies, including a rainwater harvesting system for passive irrigation of the landscape.

Mansueto High School is a candidate for the International Baccalaureate Program.
