Behavioral Health & Neurology Renovation at Central DuPage Hospital

Northwestern Medicine has expanded its behavioral health and neurology space at Central DuPage Hospital to meet the increasing need for behavioral health treatment. As general contractor, Bulley & Andrews oversaw the buildout of 54,000 sq. ft. on multiple floors of the hospital.

The project included renovations to the first floor of the North Building, the third, fourth and fifth floors at the Center Building as well as various roof and window replacements. Tripling the number of units available for behavioral health services, the new units include 10 Acute Psychiatric and four Geriatric on the third floor and 14 General Psychiatric and four General Geriatric on the fifth floor.

On the fourth floor, neurology added two exam pods with nine exam rooms in each including a treatment room and family consult room. Other support areas include neuro psych, speech, physical therapy, community/conference room and two nurse stations. Shared office space for physicians plus three private offices were added to encourage physicians to be out on the floor with patients.

The project is pursing LEED certification.
