CHICAGO, IL (November 1, 1999) Bulley & Andrews, LLC, general contractor, and Anderson Mikos Architects, ltd., architect for the project, announce the completion of the new emergency department at Swedish Covenant Hospital. The renovated space offers seven new exam rooms, a newly remodeled admitting/registration area as well as a corporate health facility.

The new emergency department opened its doors in September 1999 and is better equipped to care for the projected increase in patient cases. The new facility includes a high-tech nurse call system, allows for better patient traffic flow, and provides more privacy for patients and their families. The project also includes new interior finishes such as flooring, wallcoverings and furniture.

Construction for the 20,000 SF project began in April 1999 with substantial completion achieved September 16, 1999. Areas adjacent to the renovated space remained fully operational throughout construction.

Tom Bergthold, Project Manager, and Bob Sleeman, Project Superintendent directed the construction team for Bulley & Andrews, LLC; David E. Mikos, AIA, President,and Jack Martin, AIA, Senior Associate, led the design effort for Anderson Mikos Architects.
