
CHICAGO, IL (May 23,2006) - Thom Hamick, Superintendent with Bulley & Andrews, LLC was honored to be named "Outstanding Superintendent 2005-2006" by the Association of Subcontractors & Affiliates (ASA Chicago). Karen Elin Johnson, President of ASA Chicago, notified Mr. Hamick and presented him with the award at ASA Chicago's annual award dinner on May 5, 2006 at Medinah Country Club.
The award is designed to acknowledge an industry professional that skillfully and fairly coordinates and schedules the work of various trades, is an astute planner who ensures that the project site is accessible and available for material deliveries, is reliable, dependable and meets commitments to subcontractors and suppliers. Mr. Hamick was applauded by one of the persons who nominated him as, extremely fair in dealing with subcontractors, adept at juggling many trades and renowned for providing honest answers to tough questions.
Mr. Hamick joined the construction industry in 1969 as a carpenter apprentice and served a four-year apprenticeship. He has been an asset to the Bulley & Andrews' organization since 1979. He joined the firm as a Carpenter Foreman and worked his way up to his current role of Site Superintendent.
During his career with Bulley & Andrews, LLC, Mr. Hamick has been involved with numerous noteworthy projects including DeVry Institute of Technology, Driehaus Capital Management, Indian Hill Country Club, McDonald's Corporation and S&C Electric.
Mr. Hamick and his wife, Karen, live in Lake Barrington, Illinois. He has two adult children, Katherine and Christopher. He is an avid golfer, serves on the Public Works Committee for the Lake Barrington Homeowners' Association and has his sights set on Western Colorado when he retires.
