CHICAGO, IL (May 2, 2006) - Bulley & Andrews, LLC has completed construction of the new Hanover Park Library located at 1266 W. Irving Park Rd. in Hanover Park, Illinois. The focus of the project was to create a state-of-the-art library branch to accommodate the expanded user base.
Unlike the previous location, the new facility is a stand-alone building owned by the Schaumburg Township District Library. It provides 9,263 total square feet, including more than 2,600 square feet for adult services, over 1,600 square feet for a children's area and 618 square feet for teens, who did not have their own area in the previous branch building. Tables, lounge areas, computers and a 50-seat meeting/program room are all features in the new building, along with a quiet adult reading room, complete with fireplace.
"We are all very excited about this new branch library building," said Library Director Michael Madden. "More and more patrons are visiting the Hanover Park branch, and the time is right to provide a larger facility." A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, May 6, at the library's new location.
The project broke ground in July 2005 and achieved substantial completion in April 2006. The construction team for the project included Paul Hellermann, Project Executive; Timothy Puntillo, Senior Project Manager and Joe Flynn, Superintendent. The architectural design firm was PSA-Dewberry of Naperville. Denelle Wrightson, AIA, was the Principal in Charge; Marty Leibrock, AIA, was the Project Architect and Kevin Palmby provided construction administration services. Anthony Oliver of Capaul-Oliver Services, Ltd., represented the Owner.
