CHICAGO, IL (May 01, 2002) ) The Meyne Company, division of Bulley & Andrews, LLC, is proud to serve as general contractor for the village of Oak Park’s new public library. Located at the northwest corner of Lake Street and Grove Avenue, the new facility will be 140,000 SF nearly three times the size of its predecessor.
The $18.7 million construction project includes a three-story building and underground parking for 80 cars. The building’s south elevation is faced with stone while the east elevation, adjacent to Scoville Park, features copper panels and is topped with an undulating roof. The library’s second and third floors will feature large windows providing patrons with a generous view of the park’s landscape.
The project broke ground in late April and is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2003. The construction team for the project includes Paul Hellermann, Project Executive, Tim Puntillo, Project Manager, Bill Reininga, Superintendent and Mike Saltenberger, Project Engineer. Nagle, Hartray, Danker, Kagan, McKay Architects, Planners Ltd. is the architect. Graham Harwood of Owner's Services Group is the Owner's Representative for the project.
