The Chicago Club was the original home of the Art Institute of Chicago. Designed by Daniel Burnham and John Welborn Root, its Romanesque architectural style made it an instant landmark. After the building collapsed in 1929, rebuilding efforts incorporated beautiful finishes and distinctive details. Over the years, however, the club was subject to subsequent remodeling work that compromised the design's beauty and elegance. One such example is the third floor dining room where a dropped acoustical ceiling concealed ornate vaulted plasterwork. The space has recently under gone a faithful historical restoration by The Meyne Company, a division of Bulley & Andrews, LLC, to restore the space to its previous grandeur. In addition to restoring the original plasterwork, black and gold wainscoting and trim was stripped to reveal beautiful walnut wood. Lighting and air conditioning systems were updated and state of the art dimming capabilities new provide for custom lighting schemes.

The Meyne Company completed a 167.000 SF buildout in the Sears Tower for Universal Access, one of the technology industry's most successful firms.
The project's scope of work was substantial including mechanical and electrical upgrades, connection to base building services, a 24-hour data room, low voltage cabling, office, reception and executive space along with training facilities and a lunchroom/employee lounge.
The Meyne Company's field forces completed all millwork installations and general carpentry. The project's aggressive schedule couldn't tolerate set-backs which can occur in a tight labor market, which made The Meyne Company's self-performing capabilities a significant asset to the project's overall quality and completion. Expert project management and coordination with the building's managing agent enabled the project to be completed in two consecutive, 12-week phases.
